The Broadway Dance Band was formed in Sekondi-Takoradi, Western Ghana, in 1958 by the Nigerian trumpeter Sam Obote also known as Sammy Obot.     Oh wow as awesome as I remember it ,as a little girl. We went to see it at least 3 times. My Dad would play the record. We would often run around singing these songs at full volume. The best❤❤

    It's July 14 2024. I woke up singing Ipi Tombi in my head. I had watched the live as a teenager and felt nostalgic. Just decided to find ifbi could find iton utube. I am thrilled. Thanks for uploading. I am enjoying it this Sunday morning.

    I totally agree, my wife and I attended the preview performance the night before it first opened to the public in London’s West End all those years ago, she is no longer with us but she would have loved to see it again❤🎉❤

      But Ghana allegedly claimed they invented high life music but none of their high life musicians were bigger than the Nigeria high life musicians of peter waifu, Oliver d Cole and co and still the Nigeria high life still dominate that era of high life in the world , the fact before Ghana start claiming it the Nigerians have be doing high life long before then which they call palm wine music
